    Sonamu: is the Korean name for a pine tree and literally means “main tree” or “tree of the highest hierarchy,” embodying the implicit ideas of strength, longevity, and patience. Sonamu is a tree revered by my ancestors, where many practiced shamanism by placing their wishes and prayers on pieces of cloth and hanging them between the branches. In my country, more than 25,000 religions related to nature are worshiped. Learning about Sonamu and creating this work of art took me more than a year to complete.
